DOJ Discovers Transcripts Of Joe Biden's Interview With Biographer After Dropping Out

In a stunning turn of events, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced late Monday that it had discovered transcripts of President Joe Biden's interviews with his biographer, Mark Zwonitzer. This revelation comes just one day after Biden made the decision to drop out of the presidential race.

The transcripts, which the DOJ initially denied having, are related to Special Counsel Robert Hur's investigation into Biden's handling of classified documents after he left his position as Vice President in the Obama administration. The investigation concluded that Biden did not commit any crimes related to the matter.

The discovery of these transcripts has raised eyebrows among political observers, with many questioning the timing of the announcement. Critics have pointed out that the DOJ's sudden change of heart seems rather convenient, coming so soon after Biden's decision to withdraw from the race.

The DOJ's court filing revealed that it had located six electronic files, totaling 117 pages, that appeared to be verbatim transcripts of a small subset of the Biden-Zwonitzer audio recordings. The department had previously claimed it did not possess these transcripts.

The conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation, has filed a case to make public some of the materials from Hur's investigation, including audio recordings of a conversation between Biden and Zwonitzer. The DOJ had previously agreed to process portions of that audio, but it was not in possession of a transcript of the recording.

The DOJ's late Monday filing has added another layer of intrigue to an already complex situation. As the political landscape continues to shift, the discovery of these transcripts will undoubtedly fuel further speculation and debate.
