Chicago Bears Hire Franchise's First Female Coach

​The Chicago Bears have hired Jennifer King as their first female assistant coach in the franchises history, assigning her the role of offensive assistant putting in work with the team's running backs.

Coach Matt Eberflus rounded out his staff on Wednesday by introducing the final six members. Chris Beatty will oversee wide receivers, while Chad Morton will lead the running backs. Thomas Brown will serve as the offensive passing game coordinator, with Jason Houghtaling assuming the position of assistant offensive line coach and Robbie Picazo taking on the role of offensive assistant focusing on quarterbacks and receivers.

King made history in 2021 as the first Black female to serve as a primary position coach in NFL history while with Washington. Initially joining Washington in 2020 as an offensive intern, she has spent the last three seasons as an assistant running backs coach.

Before her NFL career, King played 12 seasons as a seven-time All-American quarterback and wide receiver for the Carolina Phoenix women’s tackle football team from 2006 to 2017.
