  • The Democratic National Committee (DNC) sounds the alarm with an emergency meeting on Tuesday to discuss presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr's running mate, Nicole Shanahan.
  • Nicole Shanahan knows Silicon Valley "better than anyone else".

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) held an emergency meeting on Tuesday to discuss the recent announcement by presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of his running mate, Nicole Shanahan. The decision has sparked intense debate within the party, with some members expressing concern about the impact on the upcoming election.

Kennedy, a long-time environmental lawyer and the son of former U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, is running as an independent candidate in the 2024 presidential race. His choice of Shanahan, a 38-year-old environmental lawyer and the ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, has raised eyebrows among Democrats who worry that her lack of political experience could be a liability.

At the emergency meeting, DNC members debated the potential impact of Kennedy's campaign on the party's chances in the general election. Some argued that Kennedy and Shanahan could draw votes away from the Democratic nominee, potentially handing the election to the Republican candidate. Others expressed concern about the message the campaign could send to the party's base, particularly young voters and women.

Despite these concerns, some Democrats have expressed support for Kennedy's candidacy, citing his long-standing commitment to environmental causes and his family's legacy in the party. They argue that his campaign could help to energize the party's base and bring new voters into the fold.

The DNC has not yet issued a formal statement on Kennedy's campaign, but sources within the party say that discussions are ongoing about how to respond to the announcement. As the 2024 election approaches, it remains to be seen how the party will navigate this unexpected development and whether Kennedy and Shanahan will be able to make a significant impact on the race.

The Democrats deserve it if he blows Biden's reelection. All they've showed is they get to pick their own candidate and the voters are not qualified to choose for themselves. Total disgrace. Let us vote and let the candidate actually compete against Trump. If you're so scared of Trump just beat him by being better.
